James Babcock

As a self taught landscape artist with a focus towards realism, James paints from a multitude of photographic images from his hiking adventures. At the heart of Wine Country in Northern California, vineyards heighten the beauty within his local surroundings. Although, the rolling hillside vines will always be a part of what he paints, with so many artists painting vineyards, he turns more of his attention to the back roads of Northern California’s lush countryside. The inter-mingle of old barns, livestock, rolling hills, meandering waterways and reflective high mountain lakes offer him an abundance of subject matter for creating great art.

James has spent the past thirty years pursuing both his love of the outdoors and his love for painting, merging them into a realistic expression of color and beauty.
